Our Mission
Our mission is to assist in the sustainability of humanities and cultural arts education, primarily within Arizona.
We aim to help fill the deficit in humanities funding and education by supporting organizations that provide cultural arts enrichment to all populations and communities. We believe that culture and arts education are critical to peaceful, just, inclusive and sustainable societies. The humanities can offer transformative avenues for reimagining ways of living harmoniously with the earth and preserving social cohesion, which is paramount during times of interrelated global challenges, social isolation and environmental crises.
Our aspiration is to spark passion through creativity in all stages of life.
Our recipients are committed to building stronger community and personal connections through diverse forms of artistic expression and cultural arts experiences.
“Music is more than just a creative outlet—it’s a powerful tool for nurturing a child’s cognitive, emotional, and social development. When children engage with music, they build confidence, learn to express themselves, and develop the focus and discipline that supports lifelong learning and well-being.”
— Rosie's House
“Art has the power to transform lives. That’s why we make it our mission to connect children who have experienced trauma with resilience-building arts programs and caring adult mentors.”
— Free Arts
“By providing a state-of-the art facility for student performances and community shows and events, the center fosters a strong connection between the arts, our students and families, and our community. The arts support student achievement by enhancing critical thinking, problem-solving, and creative expression.”
— Madison Education Foundation
“We truly appreciate the Twiford Foundation’s support in helping us get kids excited about reading. We hope that excitement will spark a lifelong love of reading and learning; all it takes is that one special book. The Twiford Foundation’s support will help us continue our mission- one child, one book at a time.”
— Barrio Bookmobile
“Music resonates with people across all stages of life. For adults living with memory loss, music can stimulate memories, reduce stress, and improve overall wellbeing.”
